How are you associated with the Air Force?: No one i know is in the air force, but i have a best friend who is in the Army.
Favorite Pastimes: Love my japanimation ^_^, reading, manga, Internet, viral videos, pc games.

What motivated you to join the Air Force:
Still on the cusp, i feel weird because I'm stuck in life at the moment. Well, i was on my last semester of school before i graduated and a classmate asked me,
"so what are majoring in?"
-Liberal Arts.
"Oh, what are you gonna do with that?" (awkward silence)

[I knew long ago, i hadn't a clue, but being my last semester. It just dawned on me. --what am i gonna do?] How am i gonna continue school, i can't afford it. I don't wanna pull out a loan.
She suggested to join the air force. Her herself being in the air force, she was convincing in saying they'll pay for school, women are not pigeonholed, you'll meet a lot of great people.

And i felt this was an excellent way to grow as a true adult. But I'm not really sure on what i want to do when I'm in there? I have my associates degree in Liberal Arts.

I was curious on others reaction on this, if I'm doing it for the right reasons. This coming from someone who is slightly introverted. lol

Subject:Inquiry: Health Professions Scholarship Program
Time:03:09 pm
Hi,

My name is Christina, I'm 22 years old and I'm thinking about applying for the Health Professions Scholarship Program with the Air Force. I was wondering if there was anyone in this comm that might have some insight into the program, the pros and cons of it or maybe some things that I should keep in mind while I'm talking with the AF recruiters.

Thanks,

sarisia

Subject:interested in those in the military's beliefs about police interrogations and confessions
Time:01:36 pm

I am writing to ask for help with an online survey that I am conducting.  The survey has to do with beliefs about police interrogations and confessions.

The survey should take no more than 15-20 minutes.  We especially need people with a military background as they are not often surveyed about these beliefs. However, any individual regardless of their background is greatly appreciated.  In order to participate, you have to be over the age of 18, and reside in the United States.

To take the survey, please click this link. http://www.surveygizmo.com/s/118794/zh3t4

Thank you for your help

Hey, my name is Ash, I'm 24 and strongly considering joining the Air Force. I already have a bachelors degree in Zoology so I'm looking into getting into OCS, and hopefully get into a computer career. I've talked to recruiters and will be taking the AFOQT next month, and hopefully I'll be getting recs from some officers I know. I'm just curious on everyones experience in the AF, whether they gained something from it or hated it. I've been weighing the pros and cons of joining and the pros win, all I'm left with is apprehension of the unknown. What exactly does officer basic training entail? Is it different from enlisted basic? How are living conditions in basic and after? Has anyone done computer networking/programming and how did that whole process go?
I've had recruiters tell me this and that about the whole experience, but I would rather get the word from someone who has been there and their job isn't to get recruits. Sorry for the long post, and thanks for any advice/wisdom you share.

I'm not really sure if anyone is watching or posting to this community anymore, but I'd figure I'd try :)

How are you associated with the Air Force?: I entered the DEP about a month ago, I leave for Basic in May for Intelligence Management
Favorite Pastimes: running, rowing (crew), I love reading (I'll admit I'm a bit of a nerd), random history
What motivated you to join the Air Force: I had been looking into joining the military for almost a year, but I didn't know what branch. The more research I did, the more the Air Force just seemed to "click"

I have a bunch of questions that I will post later when I have a bit more time.

Subject:long time no see ....

Hey, it's Nicole. Remember me from this post? (Probably not since it was AGES ago! Lol.)

Long story short ... 4 months and two recruiters (the first one gave up on me after the whole GED thing, so I found one about 45 minutes and another county away from me. Blah!) later, I finally enlisted in January. I just found out last week that I will be an 1W0 (Weather Apprentice) and I will be leaving for Basic Training June 10th. I'm so excited, but at the same time I'm really nervous and anxious ... but that's to be expected, right?

Anyway, just thought I'd drop by and give a bit of an update and hopefully get a little advice on what comes next.

Hey everyone. I figured i would join and say hey. I am currently enlisted (7 years). Ive seen a lot of people who are joining or thinking about joining and have questions. Well i would have no problem answering them if ya got them. Fair warning though, i tend to be opinionated and straight forward. I have a bad habit of giving an honest answer in stead of the normal 'Air Force' answer. Anyhow, catch yall later.
